Manufacturers of irrigation systems design
them to operate within a certain window of pressure. When they operate outside that window
- for example, when pressure is too high - the sprinkler heads waste water. Specifically,
high pressure causes the water droplets to become very small. They then exit the head in
the form of a mist or fog rather than a stream of water. These smaller water droplets are
more likely to evaporate or drift, wasting water. |
